Dhankhar Voices Out Against DMK MP Abdulla, Accusing Him of ‘Echoing Separatists Under the Guise of Periyar’s Quote’

High drama erupted in the Rajya Sabha over DMK MP M. Mohamed Abdulla’s remarks during a debate after the Supreme Court’s verdict on the abrogation of Article 370. Abdulla quoted Periyar to say that each race has the right to self-determination. Abdulla said Periyar’s view applies to the people of J&K, which the Rajya Sabha Chair opposed. The “outrageous” statement led to a massive uproar and was expunged. However, Modi ministers led by Amit Shah lashed out at the DMK and its ally Congress.
