After the Cricket World Cup 2023, the Indian cricket team is going through a new phase. A young brigade, led by Suryakumar Yadav, is heading the squad in a 5-match Twenty20 International series against Australia. However, there has been no formal confirmation regarding the availability of seniors such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the upcoming all-format trip of South Africa. It has come to light that Kohli has chosen to forego the white-ball assignment when facing the Proteas. For the Test series alone, he will be a member of the team.
Sources claim that starting on December 10, Kohli has chosen not to play in the T20I and ODI series against South Africa. Following the end of the T20 World Cup 2022, there has been concern regarding Kohli’s future, particularly in the shortest format. The seasoned hitter is still abstaining from Twenty20 international matches. However, it was unexpected that he was not present for the ODI assignment.
Additionally, it has come to light that captain Rohit Sharma has not yet disclosed what he plans to play in the One-Day International match against South Africa. It is anticipated that he will skip the T20I series in Rainbow Nation.

The Indian team for each of the three formats will be chosen in the following days by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee, which is led by former all-rounder Ajit Agarkar.
The Test match, which starts at Centurion on Boxing Day, is expected to feature the two senior batters in the Indian lineup.
