The 6-year-old child was found abandoned in a public area on Tuesday after being abducted from Kollam, Kerala, more than 20 hours earlier, according to the police. The girl is safe and sound, and the local authorities have verified that her removal was for a medical evaluation.

While the youngster was being brought for medical attention, footage shot from the ground showed investigating police officers taking her in their arms to their cars. The girl was discovered on Kollam’s Asramam ground, abandoned.

The child’s information was discovered by the police as they were attempting to locate her. The kidnapping had stunned the state and people, along with ministers, demanded a prompt investigation.

This occurs just hours after state ministers voiced trust in the police probe and the Congress youth wing staged a quiet protest in front of the Pooyappally police station regarding the girl’s rescue’s delay. Regarding the inquiry, the police stated they were looking into every possibility to find the missing child and that they had also made public a sketch of the person they believed to be the kidnapper.

Along with maintaining constant vigilance, police officers inspected every car on major and local highways in the southern districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, and Kollam.

Kerala: The Case of Kollam Kidnapping

A 6-year-old child was abducted in Pooyappally, Kerala, at approximately 4:30 p.m. by four abductors, one of them is thought to be a woman.

According to the boy’s statement to the police, the kidnappers snatched the girl and her eight-year-old brother when she was traveling to tuition courses in a white Sedan.

According to a Pooyappally police station officer on Monday, the kidnappers shoved the child away when he attempted to stop them and took the girl away in the car.

The kidnappers allegedly made two calls demanding ransom. They first sought Rs 5 lakh and subsequently doubled that amount.

The abductors were heard claiming that the girl was secure and unharmed and would be returned on Tuesday morning in exchange for a payment of Rs 10 lakh in the audio recording of the alleged second ransom call that was shown on TV stations.
