US Extends Republic Day Greetings To India; Highlights Strategic Partnership

The United States (US) extended warm greetings to India on the occasion of its 76th Republic Day, emphasizing the significance of India’s Constitution as the foundation of the world’s largest democracy.

In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledged the deepening ties between the two nations, calling their relationship a defining partnership of the 21st century.

“On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of India as they celebrate their nation’s Republic Day. As they commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India, we join them in recognizing its enduring significance as the foundation of the world’s largest democracy,” Rubio stated.

Rubio highlighted the growing cooperation between the two countries and the importance of the Quad alliance in promoting a ‘free, open, and prosperous’ Indo-Pacific region.

“The partnership between the United States and India continues to reach new heights and will be a defining relationship of the 21st century. The enduring friendship between our two peoples is the bedrock of our cooperation and propels us forward as we realize the tremendous potential of our economic relationship. We look forward to deepening our cooperation in the year ahead, including by advancing our joint efforts in space research and coordination within the Quad to promote a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region,” added the statement.

India’s Republic Day Celebrations

India marks its 76th Republic Day with a grand display of cultural diversity, military strength, and development at Kartavya Path.

President Droupadi Murmu leads the celebrations, while Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto serves as the Chief Guest at the event.

Earlier this week, Secretary Rubio hosted the Foreign Ministers of India, Australia, and Japan for a Quad meeting at the US Department of State.

The discussions focused on strengthening economic opportunities and ensuring regional peace and security in the Indo-Pacific.

Secretary Rubio also held talks with India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Washington, DC. The leaders discussed regional issues and reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing US-India ties.

Rubio further emphasized that the US aims to deepen economic cooperation with India and address concerns like irregular migration.
