UN calls Israel's order
Over a million Gazans and UN representatives were urged to relocate south within 24 hours by the Israeli military, signaling that Israel may soon launch a lethal ground attack, prompting the United Nations to issue a dire warning of “devastating consequences.”
The Israeli military has begun to gather its tanks close to the border and has mandated the expulsion of residents from Gaza City. “Gaza residents, leave for your families’ and your personal safety. Keep your distance from the terrorists from Hamas, who are using you as a human shield. The IDF wants to prevent hurting civilians while conducting large operations in Gaza City over the next few days, according to a statement from the Israeli Defense Force. Gaza’s southern and northern borders are shared by Egypt and Israel, respectively.
In order to prevent the tragedy from degenerating into a “calamitous situation,” the UN has urged the Israeli military to revoke the order for a mass transfer of Gazans. “The UN considers it impossible for such a movement to take place without devastating humanitarian consequences,” it stated. The UN has relocated its operations to southern Gaza after declaring that the order will apply to both UN employees and anyone seeking refuge in UN buildings, including hospitals and schools.
Yesterday, top US diplomat Antony Blinken paid a visit to Tel Aviv and gave Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reassurances about the backing of his nation. He claimed that graphic images of “babies riddled with bullets” and “soldiers beheaded” were shown to him. At least 22 American deaths in Israel have been officially confirmed by the US.

Today marks the end of the deadly Israel-Hamas conflict’s first week, with little sign of peace in the region. Since the battle started on Saturday, at least 1,200 people have been killed in Israel and another 1,400 in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, according to the authorities, 1,500 Hamas operatives’ remains were discovered on Israeli soil. Hamas continues to hold prisoner around 150 additional people who were hauled across from the Israeli side.
