Global Leaders Offer Condolences On ‘Devastating’ Air India Plane Crash

A tragic Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on June 12 has drawn condolences from world leaders, expressing grief and solidarity with India during this difficult time.

UK PM Keir Starmer calls the crash ‘devastating’

Following the tragic plane crash, global leaders have come up to express their condolences.

The UK PM Keir Starmer took to X and wrote, “The scenes emerging of a London-bound plane carrying many British nationals crashing in the Indian city of Ahmedabad are devastating. I am being kept updated as the situation develops, and my thoughts are with the passengers and their families at this deeply distressing time.”

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his deepest condolences over the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. He expressed sympathy to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Putin also conveyed Russia’s solidarity with India during this difficult time.

The Russian Embassy in India took to X and wrote, “President of #Russia Vladimir Putin sent a message of condolences to President of #India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister of India @narendramodi over a passenger plane crash in #Ahmedabad, Gujarat.”

Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov also reacted to the tragic crash.

He took to X and expressed, “Heartbreaking news is coming from Ahmedabad. My heartfelt sympathy to the families and near ones of the victims and to all Indian people and the Government of India over this tragic major catastrophe!”

‘We share your shock,’ says President Volodymyr Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky calls the news ‘horrible’ while offering condolences.

He took to X and wrote, “Horrible news of a passenger plane crash in India. My deepest condolences to Prime Minister @narendramodi and the entire people of India on this tragic day. Our thoughts are with all victims’ relatives and close ones in India, the UK, Portugal, and Canada. We share your shock and grief on this tragic day. We all pray for as many lives to be saved as possible and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.”

Moreover, the European Commission President also tweeted while calling the news ‘heartbreaking’.

She took to X and wrote, “Heartbreaking news from India with the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. My deepest condolences to the families and loved ones grieving this terrible loss. We share your pain. Dear @narendramodi, Europe stands in solidarity with you and the people of India in this moment of sorrow.”
