President Trump Urges Iran To Halt Missile Attacks And Resume Diplomacy With Israel

US President Donald Trump called on Iran to stop launching missiles at Israel and return to diplomatic discussions.

During an interview with Fox News, Trump suggested that Tehran should move away from military action and focus on reaching a negotiated settlement.

“We’re very close. I would say an agreement would be signed on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of this coming week. And now this takes place,” Trump stated.

The US President indicated that discussions had advanced significantly and claimed that a deal could be concluded in the coming days.

The President added that the missile strikes had complicated efforts to achieve a diplomatic breakthrough.

In remarks to Axios, Trump revealed that he intended to contact Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“I am going to call Bibi right now and tell him not to retaliate. Each of them had their fun. Israel had its strike, and Iran had its strike. We don’t need another one,” he asserted.

Trump maintained that additional retaliation would only increase instability across the region.

Reports indicated that Iran fired at least ten ballistic missiles towards Israel on Sunday.

Israeli defence officials reported that all of the missiles were successfully intercepted.

Warning sirens sounded throughout northern Israel as authorities responded to the threat.

Israel Defence Forces spokesperson Effi Defrin strongly criticised Iran’s missile launches. He described the attacks as a serious error and warned that the military remained ready for any further developments.

Defrin also confirmed that military leaders were closely assessing the evolving situation.

Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir reportedly held strategic consultations and reviewed plans for potential next steps.

Officials said there were no immediate reports of casualties following the missile attacks.

No major damage was reported in the aftermath of the strikes.
