PM Modi Leaves For India After Completing High-Impact Malaysia Official Visit

PM Modi departed for India on Sunday after completing a two-day official visit to Malaysia. The visit focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and deepening economic engagement.

The Ministry of External Affairs described the visit as outcome-oriented and strategically important.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the engagements delivered tangible results that would significantly reinforce India-Malaysia relations.

In a message shared on X, Jaiswal highlighted the warmth and hospitality extended to PM Modi.

He said the visit drew strength from shared cultural roots and mutual respect between the two nations.

During the visit, PM Modi met leading business executives from India and Malaysia.

He addressed the India-Malaysia CEO Forum and underlined new possibilities for trade expansion and investment flows.

PM Modi said the dialogue opened fresh commercial avenues for both economies.

PM Modi also interacted with leaders of Indian origin, including Malaysian Ministers and Senators.

He praised their contributions to public life and acknowledged their strong emotional bond with India.

PM Modi said their achievements reflected the global success of the Indian diaspora.

In Kuala Lumpur, PM Modi met Indian National Army veteran Jeyaraj Raja Rao. He paid tribute to the Azad Hind Fauj and honoured the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

PM Modi described the interaction as deeply inspiring and reaffirmed India’s gratitude to INA veterans.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi held wide-ranging talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at Seri Perdana.

Both leaders reviewed cooperation across trade, infrastructure, energy, information technology, and biotechnology.

PM Modi said India and Malaysia, as maritime neighbours, shared a long-standing friendship.

He noted that the discussions also covered future collaboration in security, defence technologies, artificial intelligence, digital systems, and semiconductors.

PM Modi emphasised the importance of people-to-people ties. He highlighted initiatives such as the Social Security Agreement, free e-visas for tourism, and the rollout of UPI in Malaysia.

He added that both sides were working to expand university exchanges and skill development opportunities.

Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi addressed members of the Indian community in Malaysia. He received a warm welcome on arrival in Kuala Lumpur, reflecting the strong goodwill between the two countries.
