Piyush Goyal Highlights Business Collaboration As Key To Boost India-France Partnership

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasised the importance of stronger business ties in enhancing the strategic partnership between India and France.

Speaking at the India-France Business Conference in Paris on Wednesday, Goyal noted the potential for deeper cooperation between companies from both nations.

In a post on the social media platform, Piyush Goyal described the ‘India Opportunity’, citing India’s skilled workforce and government efforts to simplify business processes as attractive factors for French firms.

He urged businesses on both sides to collaborate by leveraging shared interests and complementary strengths.

Goyal also held talks with Israel’s Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat.

“Our discussions focused on diversifying our trade basket, fostering innovation, and strengthening cooperation in high-tech and emerging sectors, paving the way for the next phase of our partnership,” Goyal posted on X.

The day before, the Commerce Minister addressed the India-France CEO Forum, covering diverse areas of cooperation such as technology, artificial intelligence, education, and startups.

He mentioned that French companies remain confident in India’s growth potential.

Taking to X, Piyush Goyal posted, “Addressed the India-France CEO Forum Small Group Meeting today in Paris along with French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad @LaurentSMartin.”

The interactive session, attended by representatives from Indian and French companies, discussed multiple facets of collaboration, including technology and innovation.

Additionally, Goyal met with WTO Director-General Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to reaffirm India’s commitment to a fair, inclusive, and rules-based multilateral trading system.
