Piyush Goyal Assures Support To Indian Researchers; Students In Berlin

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal interacted with Indian science and technology researchers and students in Berlin, Germany. He discussed ways to strengthen support for Indian talent abroad and encouraged them to contribute to the Viksit Bharat vision.

In a post on X, Goyal said he heard participants’ views on improving support for Indians pursuing research and academic opportunities overseas. He assured them of government support to promote their innovations and startup initiatives.

Goyal said the government would help showcase their work at major trade fairs and exhibitions. The initiative aims to provide greater visibility to Indian innovations and strengthen the country’s global presence in technology and entrepreneurship.

Earlier, Goyal met Levin Holle, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor to the German Federal Chancellor and Germany’s G7 and G20 Sherpa.

They discussed ways to advance the India–Germany economic partnership and strengthen cooperation on global economic priorities.

On Friday, India and Germany explored opportunities to deepen industrial collaboration. They discussed the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and its potential to expand bilateral trade and investment.

Goyal’s Berlin engagements included a bilateral meeting with German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche. He also inaugurated the India Centre at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), attended an India–Germany Business Roundtable and participated in the Berlin Global Dialogue.
