Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai Strengthens India-Russia Cultural Ties Through Hindi Theatre

Bharat Express News Network CMD and Editor-in-Chief Upendrra Rai has launched an initiative to strengthen cultural ties between India and Russia. The initiative promotes friendship through art and literature.

The International Awards Collegium and Dostoevsky Star Awards sent him a message of gratitude. They also extended an invitation in recognition of his contribution.

Bharat Express participated as a special partner in the cultural programme held at the Dom Baltic Grand Auditorium. The event was organised under the aegis of the Indian Embassy.

The event brought Indian performing arts and Russian literary heritage together, encouraging greater cultural understanding between the two countries.

The highlight of the programme was Chandni Raatein, a Hindi play based on White Nights, the celebrated work of Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Renowned theatre director Purva Naresh directed the production, which featured actress Girija Oak, performer Mantra Mugdh, Danish Husain, Shimli Basu and Kaustav Sinha. Their performances captivated the Russian audience and drew enthusiastic applause.

Russian attendees also participated enthusiastically, making the event an example of cultural affinity between the two nations.

The Hindi adaptation demonstrated how theatre and literature can connect people beyond linguistic and geographical boundaries.

CMD Rai’s initiative highlights the media’s potential to facilitate dialogue between countries through culture, literature and artistic traditions.

Under his leadership, Bharat Express has sought to contribute to cultural cooperation and international friendship beyond its role in journalism.

The staging of Chandni Raatein in St Petersburg brought Indian theatre and Russian literature together on an international platform, creating opportunities to deepen cultural connections between India and Russia.
