Amitabh Bachchan Prioritises Recovery, Says He Needs Additional Rest

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has indicated that his recovery requires additional rest, one day after informing his followers that he would temporarily stop posting on social media.

In his latest Tumblr blog entry, the veteran actor reflected on the human body and its distinctive nature. “Yet more rest needed .. adjusting .. thinking and wondering .. the human body and its uniqueness,” he wrote.

The actor’s blog update followed a message on X, formerly Twitter, in which he explained that medical advice had prompted him to take a short break.

“Apologies. I seek forgiveness. I have been advised to take a few days off to rest and recover, so I am unable to write anything at the moment,” Bachchan stated.

He had also addressed his followers through his official blog a day earlier while sharing Dussehra wishes. The actor explained that strict instructions required him to focus on recuperation and restrict communication for the time being.

Bachchan also apologised to people who sent him personal greetings and said he hoped to reconnect once circumstances permitted.

The actor’s latest message follows reports that he hurt his knee while shooting for the television quiz programme Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.

Earlier this month, Bachchan informed viewers that he had slipped during filming and sustained a knee injury. During the show’s opening segment, he remained seated and explained that the injury made standing uncomfortable.

Despite the discomfort, the actor suggested that the injury was not serious.

However, Bachchan has not established any connection between the reported knee injury and the recent medical advice to rest.

The veteran star’s latest update suggests that he is concentrating on recovery before returning to his usual social media interactions.
