Pakistan Denies Iranian General’s Claim Of Nuclear Support Against Israel

Hours after an Iranian military official claimed that Pakistan had assured a nuclear attack against Israel if it dropped a nuclear bomb on Iran, Islamabad dismissed the statement as ‘fake’.

Iranian General Mohsen Rezaei claimed during a televised interview. He stated that Pakistan expressed solidarity with Iran and urged the Muslim world to unite against Israel.

“Pakistan has assured us that if Israel uses a nuclear bomb on Iran, they will attack Israel with a nuclear bomb,” said Rezaei. He serves in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and sits on Iran’s National Security Council.

Khawaja Asif calls the report fake and misleading

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif quickly responded on social media. He strongly denied the claim and labelled the report ‘fake’. He also noted that the British press had carried the story.

“Our nuclear capability is for the benefit of our people and for the defence of our country. We do not pursue hegemonic policies against our neighbours. Israel’s actions show the opposite,” Asif posted on X.

He earlier called for global action against the Israel nuclear threat. “The world should be cautious about Israel’s nuclear capability. Israel is not part of the NPT treaty or any global nuclear agreement,” he said in another post.

Pakistan expresses support for Iran in Parliament

Speaking in the National Assembly on Saturday, Asif declared support for Iran. He urged Muslim nations to break diplomatic ties with Israel.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday announced ‘Operation Rising Lion’. The mission aims to eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat. He said the operation would continue until Israel felt secure.

Iran responded with fresh missile strikes on Israel on Saturday. The attacks heightened tensions and increased fears surrounding the ongoing Israeli nuclear threat.
