Operation Sindoor Showcased India’s Defence Strength, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said Operation Sindoor demonstrated the capability and credibility of India’s defence platforms, asserting that the echoes of strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan were heard across the world.

Addressing the Indian community at the ‘Melbourne Meets Modi’ event, the Prime Minister said the world had witnessed the strength of India’s defence systems during Operation Sindoor.

Referring to the military action, PM Modi asked the gathering whether they felt proud of the strikes on terrorist camps, drawing loud cheers and applause.

PM Modi said India-made products have gained global recognition over the past 12 years, adding that the ‘Make in India’ initiative has evolved into a global brand. He highlighted the expanding international footprint of Indian mobile phones, electronics, automobiles and pharmaceutical products.

The Prime Minister said India’s growing strength benefits humanity and cited relief efforts undertaken during Operation Sagar Bandhu, Operation Brahma and Operation Amistad.

Referring to the recent earthquake in Venezuela, PM Modi said India swiftly dispatched aid, rescue experts and medical teams, helping save many lives. He also recalled India’s humanitarian assistance to Turkey, Syria, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, saying the country extends support without considering nationality or passports, which has strengthened global trust in India.

PM Modi also thanked Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for attending the Melbourne community event and recalled his participation in the Indian diaspora programme in Sydney in 2023. He said Albanese had won the hearts and minds of Indians through his speeches and noted that they had shared memorable occasions in both Ahmedabad and Melbourne.
