Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday extended warm birthday wishes to PM Narendra Modi, calling him his ‘good friend’ and lauding his accomplishments for India.
Sharing a video message on X, Netanyahu said, “Prime Minister Modi, my good friend Narendra, I want to wish you a happy birthday. You’ve accomplished so much for India in your life, and we have together accomplished a great deal in the friendship between India and Israel. I look forward to seeing you soon because we can bring our partnership and our friendship to even greater heights. Happy birthday, my friend.”
“Happy birthday to my dear friend, Prime Minister @narendramodi. Together we will take our partnership to new heights,” the caption added.
PM Modi turned 75 today. Born on September 17, 1950, in Mehsana, Gujarat, he served as Chief Minister of the state for three consecutive terms from 2001 to 2014. He was first elected as India’s Prime Minister in 2014 and is now serving his third term.
Netanyahu highlighted the achievements of India and Israel in building a strong bilateral partnership. India and Israel share strategic ties and cooperate across multiple sectors, making Israel one of India’s key partners.
Earlier, Netanyahu had extended wishes to PM Modi and the people of India on the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day.
He stated, “Israel and India are two proud democracies, bound by history, innovation, and friendship. Our nations have achieved much together, and the best chapters of our partnership still lie ahead.”
Netanyahu expressed anticipation of meeting PM Modi soon to further elevate India-Israel cooperation. He emphasised that the two leaders can take their nations’ partnership and friendship to even greater heights, reinforcing a strong diplomatic bond between the countries.
