President Putin Wishes PM Modi On Birthday; Praises India’s Achievements

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday extended warm birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising his leadership and contributions to strengthening India-Russia ties.

Wishing PM Modi on his 75th birthday, Putin said, “Your work as head of government has earned you great respect from your compatriots and enormous prestige on the international stage. Under your guidance, India has achieved impressive results in the social, economic, scientific, and technological spheres.”

Putin lauded PM Modi for enhancing the strategic partnership between New Delhi and Moscow.

“You are making a great personal contribution to strengthening the privileged strategic partnership between our countries and to promoting mutually beneficial Russian-Indian cooperation in various areas,” he said.

The Russian President added, “I highly appreciate our close comradeship relations. We will certainly continue our constructive dialogue and joint work on the current issues on the bilateral, regional, and international agendas.”

PM Modi and Putin last met on September 1 in China during the SCO Summit in Tianjin. According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the leaders discussed regional and global issues, including developments related to Ukraine.

During their discussions, PM Modi reiterated his support for initiatives addressing the Ukraine conflict and emphasised the need for a speedy cessation and durable peace settlement.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia.

PM Modi also conveyed that he looks forward to hosting President Putin in India later this year for the 23rd Annual Summit.
