During Thursday evening’s call, the leaders assessed cooperation across various areas and exchanged views on the current situation in West Asia.
PM Modi said he had received a telephone call from Netanyahu and that their strategic partnership continued to grow from strength to strength.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors for the mutual benefit of India and Israel. They also agreed to remain in contact.
The conversation followed PM Modi’s two-day State Visit to Israel in February, undertaken at Netanyahu’s invitation.
PM Modi was accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior Ministers and government officials.
During that visit, the two leaders recalled PM Modi’s historic trip to Israel in 2017 and Netanyahu’s visit to India in 2018, which helped open a new chapter in bilateral relations. They also highlighted considerable progress in areas including emerging technologies, cyber security, agriculture, water management, healthcare, entrepreneurship, defence and security.
Both leaders previously agreed to elevate bilateral ties to ‘A Special Strategic Partnership for Peace, Innovation and Prosperity’, reflecting their shared commitment to deeper cooperation and long-term collaboration.
