Netanyahu Thanks PM Modi After Call As India-Israel Strategic Ties Grow

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi following a telephone conversation in which the two leaders reviewed progress in the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership.

“Thank you, my friend, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. Together we continue to strengthen the bond between Israel and India,” Netanyahu wrote on X, responding to PM Modi’s Hebrew-language post about their discussion.

During Thursday evening’s call, the leaders assessed cooperation across various areas and exchanged views on the current situation in West Asia.

PM Modi said he had received a telephone call from Netanyahu and that their strategic partnership continued to grow from strength to strength.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors for the mutual benefit of India and Israel. They also agreed to remain in contact.

The conversation followed PM Modi’s two-day State Visit to Israel in February, undertaken at Netanyahu’s invitation.

PM Modi was accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior Ministers and government officials.

During that visit, the two leaders recalled PM Modi’s historic trip to Israel in 2017 and Netanyahu’s visit to India in 2018, which helped open a new chapter in bilateral relations. They also highlighted considerable progress in areas including emerging technologies, cyber security, agriculture, water management, healthcare, entrepreneurship, defence and security.

Both leaders previously agreed to elevate bilateral ties to ‘A Special Strategic Partnership for Peace, Innovation and Prosperity’, reflecting their shared commitment to deeper cooperation and long-term collaboration.
