An all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi held a constructive dialogue with the editorial board of Greece’s leading newspaper Kathimerini on Thursday.
The delegation conveyed India’s ‘new normal’ policy on terrorism and outlined the principled, calibrated response through ‘Operation Sindoor’ following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
The visit continues India’s strategic global outreach to build international backing against cross-border terrorism.
Kanimozhi’s team includes MPs from multiple parties: Samajwadi Party’s Rajeev Rai, BJP’s Captain Brijesh Chowta (Retd.), RJD’s Prem Chand Gupta, AAP’s Ashok Kumar Mittal, and former Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.
Speaking on social media, MP Ashok Mittal emphasised, “Terrorism knows no borders, and neither should our resolve to defeat it!”
He described the delegation’s meeting with Kathimerini as an opportunity to share India’s doctrine of zero tolerance for terrorism in all forms and the need for global unity in holding terrorists and their enablers accountable.
Earlier, the delegation met members of the Indian community in Greece.
The diaspora expressed full support and solidarity with India’s efforts to combat terrorism.
Mittal called the interaction ‘a bond beyond borders’, reaffirming the deep connection between India and its global community.
The delegation held high-level meetings with Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Deputy Minister Tasos Chatzivasileiou, as well as senior Greek parliamentarians, policy experts, and media representatives.
They briefed officials on the Pahalgam terror attack and emphasised India’s proportionate and strategic response through Operation Sindoor.
The Indian Embassy said the delegation stressed that Operation Sindoor was a justified, measured response aligned with India’s anti-terror stance.
They urged the international community to unite against terrorism as a global menace.
The delegation also met leaders from prominent Greek think tanks to discuss India’s recalibrated counterterrorism approach, which demands swift, resolute action against terrorists and their enablers alike.
The visit is part of India’s global campaign to highlight Operation Sindoor and its fight against Pakistan-backed cross-border terrorism.
The delegation arrived in Greece after successful visits to Slovenia and Russia, reinforcing India’s firm stance on combating terrorism worldwide.
