Israeli Prime Minister Claims United Nations Aid Agency Infiltrated By Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Wednesday that the UN agency for Palestinian refugees had been infiltrated by Hamas, after many countries froze financing due to Israeli assertions that 12 UNRWA officials were involved in the October 7 attacks.

“UNRWA is infiltrated with Hamas”, Netanyahu told at the meeting of UN ambassadors in Jerusalem, adding that “we need to get other UN agencies and other aid agencies replacing UNRWA”.

Netanyahu’s remarks came as UNRWA stated that it is extremely important to launch an impartial investigation into Israeli charges that 12 of its staff were involved in the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

Following the allegations, key funding sources, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and the United States, have suspended aid to UNRWA.

During the meeting, Netanyahu stated, “It (UNRWA) has been in the service of Hamas, in its schools and many other things”, as captured on camera, which the government press office issued.

“I say this with great regret because we hoped that there would be an objective and constructive body to offer aid. We need such a body today in Gaza, but UNRWA is not that body”, Netanyahu added.
