Israel Values Deep Partnership With India, Says Netanyahu After Call With PM Modi

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday said Israel deeply values its partnership with India and the two nations’ shared determination to defeat terrorism, following a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Taking to X, Netanyahu posted, “Thank you, my friend, Prime Minister Modi, for the warm conversation and friendship. I extend my best wishes to the people of India. Israel values the deep partnership with India and our shared determination to defeat terrorism.”

The Israeli leader’s remarks came in response to a post by Prime Minister Modi.

PM Modi said the two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the India-Israel Strategic Partnership. They also exchanged views on key regional and global issues.

“Glad to speak with my friend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and convey New Year greetings to him and the people of Israel. We discussed ways to further strengthen the India-Israel Strategic Partnership in the year ahead,” PM Modi posted.

The post further added, “We also exchanged views on the regional situation and reaffirmed our shared resolve to fight terrorism with greater determination.”

During the telephonic conversation, Prime Minister Netanyahu briefed PM Modi on the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan. The information was shared in a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

PM Modi reaffirmed India’s consistent support for efforts aimed at achieving a just and durable peace in the region.

A statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said the two leaders discussed the strength of bilateral ties. They also explored ways to unlock the full potential of the relationship for the benefit of the people of both countries.

“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: I had a fruitful conversation today, focused on strengthening our two countries’ national security, with my dear friend, Prime Minister @narendramodi,” the post read. 

In December, Prime Minister Modi also received a telephone call from Netanyahu. During the conversation, both leaders exchanged views on the situation in West Asia. They reviewed progress in the India-Israel Strategic Partnership and reiterated their shared zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Spoke with my friend Prime Minister Netanyahu. We reviewed progress in the India-Israel Strategic Partnership and agreed to further strengthen our cooperation. Also reaffirmed our shared commitment to zero tolerance for terrorism. India supports all efforts aimed at achieving a just and durable peace in the region.”
