Benjamin Netanyahu
On Monday, the Israeli Prime Minister’s office announced that Benjamin Netanyahu had successful hernia surgery.
“Netanyahu was in good shape and beginning to recover”, the Israel PM office said in a statement following the operation on Sunday evening, which was carefully followed as the war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip approached its six months.
“Doctors noticed the hernia during a routine checkup on Saturday, and after consultations, the Prime Minister agreed to have surgery after completing his daily schedule”, the statement reads.
Thousands of Israelis gathered in Jerusalem on Sunday evening, demanding Netanyahu’s resignation and the release of Israeli captives held in Gaza.
The Gaza war began with Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, which killed around 1,160 Israelis, the majority of whom were civilians.
According to the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza, Israel’s retaliatory attack has killed at least 32,782 individuals, the majority of whom were women and children.
