Israel Claims Not To Want War, Yet Warns Hezbollah

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated during a visit to Washington that his country does not want war in Lebanon, but is prepared to inflict massive damage on Hezbollah if diplomacy fails.

“We do not want war, but we are preparing for every scenario”, Gallant informed.

“Hezbollah understands very well that we can inflict massive damage in Lebanon if a war is launched”, Gallant added.

Tensions have risen, with growing skirmishes along Israel’s border with the Iranian-backed militia, since Hamas’ October 7 attack, which provoked a relentless Israeli retaliation campaign in Gaza.

Gallant said that Israel has killed around 400 Hezbollah terrorists in recent months.
