‘India’s Economy Is Driving Global Growth’: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said India’s economy is playing a significant role in driving global growth, powered by the mantra of ‘Reform, Perform and Transform’.

Addressing the Indian community in Jakarta, PM Modi said the approach has accelerated India’s development and strengthened its position on the global stage.

The Prime Minister thanked the Indian diaspora in Indonesia for contributing to stronger bilateral ties, describing them as ambassadors of India’s culture, values and traditions across the world.

Referring to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto’s remarks about having ‘India’s DNA’, PM Modi said, “You had said that you have India’s DNA. That one statement won the hearts of millions of Indians, and even today, it receives the loudest applause. I want to say that DNA is built on mutual trust and shared history.”

Prime Minister Modi highlighted the historic bond between India and Indonesia, saying the relationship extends far beyond diplomacy and draws strength from centuries-old civilisational links. He added that the friendship between the two countries continues to grow stronger.

The Prime Minister also dedicated Indonesia’s highest civilian honour, conferred on him earlier in the day, to the 1.4 billion people of India and the Indian community abroad.

“Above all, this award is another symbol of the close friendship between India and Indonesia,” he said.

PM Modi also expressed gratitude for the warm reception he received on his arrival in Indonesia, noting that President Prabowo personally welcomed him at the airport along with members of the Cabinet. He said the enthusiasm shown by the people, especially children and youth, reflected the strong goodwill shared between the two nations.
