Karan Johar Reacts After PM Modi Mentions ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ In Jakarta

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Indian community in Jakarta on Tuesday, highlighted the popularity of Indian cinema in Indonesia by referring to the title track of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji.

During his speech, the Prime Minister said, “Yahan Bharat ka gana ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ bahut hi lokpriya hai. Aaj maine is par kaha ki jab Bharat aur Indonesia saath milkar chalte hain, toh ‘kuch kuch’ se bhi aage badhkar ‘bahut kuch’ hota hai.”

The Prime Minister used the popular song title as a wordplay to underline the potential for deeper cooperation between India and Indonesia.

Reacting to the mention, filmmaker Karan Johar reshared the video of the speech on his Instagram Stories and expressed his appreciation.

The filmmaker wrote, “Elated & honoured to have our esteemed Prime Minister @narendramodi ji speak about Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in Jakarta. There is indeed a language that transcends all – it’s love. Thank you for embracing & making this song live forever!!!”

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, produced by Yash Johar, marked Karan Johar’s directorial debut. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in lead roles, with Salman Khan and Sana Saeed playing significant characters.

Widely regarded as one of Bollywood’s most celebrated romantic dramas, the film continues to enjoy enduring popularity across generations, with its songs and dialogues resonating with audiences in India and abroad.
