An Indian parliamentary delegation, led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda, met Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister Sherida Abdullah Saad Al-Maousharji on Monday.
The team briefed him on India’s recent measures under Operation Sindoor to counter cross-border terrorism.
Both India and Kuwait reaffirmed their zero-tolerance approach to terrorism.
“India & Kuwait stand united in our shared commitment against terrorism,” Panda posted on X.
The post further added, “Along with our all-party delegation colleagues, called on His Excellency Sherida Abdullah Saad Al Maousherji, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, to brief him on India’s recent actions to combat cross-border terrorism & reaffirm our joint zero-tolerance approach.”
He said the delegation apprised the Deputy PM of India’s latest actions under Operation Sindoor.
The delegation paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at the Indian Embassy in Kuwait.
Taking to X, the Indian Embassy posted, “Paying tribute to Gandhiji’s enduring message of peace, non-violence and tolerance! The All-Party delegation led by @PandaJay offered floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Embassy.”
The all-party delegation had earlier completed a productive visit to Bahrain. They landed in Kuwait on Monday for a two-day visit.
The outreach is part of Operation Sindoor, India’s global campaign to highlight its firm response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
Besides Panda, the delegation includes BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Satnam Singh Sandhu, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, and former diplomat Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Adarsh Swaika welcomed them at the airport. The group will engage with senior Kuwaiti officials, think tanks, civil society members, media professionals, and the Indian diaspora.
Earlier in Bahrain, the delegation shared details of Operation Sindoor and reaffirmed India’s united stance against terrorism during meetings with multiple stakeholders.
