Indian American Doctor Arrested For Allegedly Masturbating In Front Of 14 Year Old Girl In Flight

Allegedly masturbating in front of a 14-year-old girl on a flight from Hawaii to Boston last year, an Indian American doctor has been arrested by FBI. On a trip from Hawaii last year, he allegedly engaged in obscene activities in front of a 14-year-old girl, according to a tweet from the Official FBI Boston account. After making his initial appearance in federal court in Boston, he has been discharged.

If found guilty, he faces a maximum fine of $5,000, 90 days in jail, and a year of supervised release.

According to an affidavit submitted in the case on Thursday and filed in federal court in Boston, Dr. Sudipta Mohanty, 33, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, acted inappropriately on a Hawaiian Airlines aircraft on May 27, 2022. According to reports, the incident took place on a trip from Honolulu to Boston when he allegedly exposed himself and acted inappropriately in front of a little child.

Charges against Sudipta Mohanty

The girl claims that Mohanty wrapped a blanket around himself and pulled it up to his neck about five hours into the flight. She saw his leg bouncing up and down at this point. Mohanty’s pants had been open and his private parts were visible when the cover soon dropped. The girl immediately shifted to a different seat after feeling “disgusted and very uncomfortable.”

Mohanty was sitting close to a female companion who dozed off with her head on his shoulder throughout the incident. When the plane landed in Boston, the kid told her family about the unsettling event, which prompted law enforcement to become involved.

When questioned, Mohanty responded with, ‘I have no recollection of that,’ according to authorities’ reports.

Who is Indian American Doctor arrested

Mohanty is an internal medicine and primary care physician with a practise in Boston, according to the charging paperwork. It is alleged that Mohanty travelled with a female companion on a Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu to Boston on May 27, 2022. According to reports, Mohanty was sat next to a 14-year-old girl who was reportedly flying with her grandparents and sitting close by.
