India–Israel Partnership Remains Strong Through Every Challenge, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the India–Israel relationship has stood the test of time at every challenge, anchored in deep mutual trust, shared democratic values and human sensitivity.

Addressing a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem after the exchange of several MoUs, PM Modi announced a ‘historic decision’ to elevate bilateral ties to a ‘Special Strategic Partnership for Peace, Innovation and Prosperity’.

PM Modi said both sides agreed to give fresh momentum and direction to cooperation, describing economic collaboration as an engine of growth, innovation and shared prosperity. He noted that the two countries signed a bilateral investment agreement last year to promote mutual investment and would soon finalise a mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement.

Highlighting long-standing agricultural cooperation, the Prime Minister said the Centres of Excellence established in India with Israeli support reflect the strength of the partnership.

Observing their success, both countries have decided to expand their number to 100.

He also announced the establishment of a Critical and Emerging Technology Partnership to accelerate collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and critical minerals.

PM Modi welcomed UPI in Israel, expressed pride in returning after nine years, addressed the Knesset, and received its Speaker’s Medal. He reaffirmed India’s support for Gaza peace and said both nations will continue to oppose terrorism in all forms.

The elevation of ties and expanded cooperation signal a new chapter in the India–Israel partnership, rooted in resilience, innovation and a shared vision for peace and prosperity.
