Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Evian, France, on Tuesday to participate in the prestigious Group of Seven (G7) Summit, where global leaders will deliberate on major international challenges and future cooperation initiatives.
Upon reaching Evian, PM Modi expressed enthusiasm about engaging with world leaders and discussing critical global issues.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting collective efforts aimed at creating a more sustainable and prosperous world.

Before arriving in France, the Prime Minister made a stop in Geneva, where Swiss President Guy Parmelin personally welcomed him at the airport.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both leaders exchanged cordial greetings and reiterated their commitment to strengthening the India-Switzerland partnership.

During the summit, PM Modi will participate in discussions alongside G7 leaders, invited partner nations and international organisations.
Key sessions will focus on forging new partnerships, rebuilding international solidarity, promoting balanced and sustainable economic growth, and ensuring the safe, rapid and efficient deployment of artificial intelligence technologies.
The Prime Minister will also hold several bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the summit to deepen diplomatic and economic cooperation.
PM Modi is attending the summit at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
India’s presence at the G7 highlights its expanding influence in global affairs and its growing contribution to addressing international challenges. This marks India’s 13th participation in the G7 Summit and PM Modi’s seventh consecutive attendance.
MEA Secretary (West) Sibi George stated that India’s regular participation reflects global recognition of its role in addressing issues related to peace, security, development and environmental sustainability. He added that India consistently champions the priorities and aspirations of the Global South through forums such as the G20 and Voice of Global South Summit.
Following the Evian engagements, PM Modi will travel to Paris on Thursday for bilateral meetings and participation in the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s largest technology and startup event. He is also expected to interact with members of the Indian community in the French capital.
