Christmas Eve 2022: Celebrate a very Merry Christmas at home with Family and Friends

Merry Christmas: The jingle bell festival is just hours away and it’s Christmas Eve tonight. A peaceful and fun Christmas is best spent at home with friends and family.

Here are some fun things to do for your at-home cosy Christmas:

Carol Singing Sessions

Singing brings us joy even if we sing out of tune and singing with loved ones can be a whole lot of fun. So get those vocal chords to work, make a nice Carol playlist and take turns to sing in the Christmas joy!

Visit the lonely neighbours

Every neighbourhood has them and this is your chance to spread joy. Take a small gift or flowers or cookies with at least a half hour of your time, the latter being the most precious gift. They will be so overjoyed and trust me they love it and so will you. A small way of playing Santa to someone.

Christmas Movie Eve Night

Watch a few Christmas films with friends and family. It’s a great way to enjoy the holiday. Some of the best family films are themed around Christmas so make the most of it.

Gifting hour

Keep a special gifting hour and add a twist to it. Apart from the gifts, they have to be expressive on the spot. Like give a toast, sing a song, perform an act and dedicate that as a gift to someone.

Play Games

Bring out the board games, play dumb charades, 21 questions and any other game traditions you might have.

Bake together

Let this be the one fun activity that you all do for the dinner menu together. Assign some work to everyone and play music while the yummy crackle and smell of cookies gives you company. Let there be no rules and yes let the flour be thrown up in the air or at each other. Make it fun and you will also have cookies when you are done.

Dress Code

Keep themed clothing for everyone in Christmas colours. Keep a few scarves or caps in the colours green, white and red for those who don’t quite follow the code.

Fairytale Time

Read aloud your favourite books about Christmas or anything else along with everyone with Hot Chocolate for everyone for company.

Late Night Drive

If you must step out then do so for a short ride with the family and enjoy the bright lights and lively streets. Even visit the Church while you are at it for the Christmas Special mass.

Christmas Special Thought : There are many who don’t actually have family and friends to spend Christmas with. If you are feeling especially generous with your time do make an effort to spend time with those who could do with the feeling of having family on
