India places a high value on the SCO’s role in developing multilateral, political, security, economic and people-to-people interactions in the region.

The continued participation with SCO has aided India in promoting its relations with the countries in the region with which it shares civilizational ties and is considered India’s extended neighbourhood.

SCO’s policy is based on the values of national sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-interference in domestic affairs, equality of all member States and mutual understanding and respect for the opinions of each of them.
