China Covid: 37 Million People Infected In A Day!

China Covid: The Omicron variant is rapidly infecting people after restrictions were eased in protest against the government’s zero-covid policy. Nearly 18% of the population, around 248 million people are expected to be infected with the virus in the first 20 days of December.

Corona has become uncontrollable in China.  According to the estimates of the health agency, more than half of the population of China’s southwest Sichuan province and the capital Beijing has been affected by the corona.

The largest outbreak in the world, nearly 37 million people in China have been infected with Covid-19 on a single day this week. Beijing’s swift dismantling of Covid Zero restrictions has led to the unfettered spread of the highly contagious omicron variants in a population with low levels of natural immunity.

According to the estimates of the health agency, more than half of the population of China’s southwest Sichuan province and the capital Beijing has been affected by the corona. The situation has become worse due to Corona in China. There are no beds in the hospital. The situation has become such that even seriously ill people are being asked to stay at home for treatment.

There is a shortage of ventilators and medical equipment. Those who are dying are unable to get a place in the crematorium. The situation in China is continuously getting worse. Lack of medical resources has emerged as the biggest challenge due to the ever-increasing cases of Corona. The alarm is that not only is there a shortage of hospital beds, ventilators and medicines in China, but there is also a shortage of doctors and medical staff. People in China are now using rapid antigen tests to detect infections, and they aren’t obligated to report positive results. Meanwhile, the government has stopped publishing the daily number of asymptomatic cases.

Experts say that due to the zero-covid policy, natural immunity could not be formed among the people of China. At the same time, there was fierce opposition to this policy across the country and people started demonstrating violently. The government ha started relaxing these rules under presure. Since then Corona has become uncontrollable.

Covid cases peak even as its overall infection rate is waning. Meanwhile, the outbreak is spreading from urban centers to rural China, where medical resources are often lacking. The agency warned every region to prepare for the coming surge in severe disease.

10 lakh cases are coming daily in China and 5000 people are dying due to the infection of this virus. However, only 4 thousand cases are being reported in the official figures on Thursday. The 37 million daily cases estimated for December 20 is a dramatic deviation from the official tally of just 3,049 infections reported in China for that day. It is also several times higher than the previous world record for the pandemic.
