16 Died In Israel Air Strikes In Rafah, Gaza

Medics and first responders in Gaza reported that 16 people were killed by Israeli air strikes in the southern city of Rafah on Sunday, just hours after three Israeli soldiers were killed by Hamas rockets earlier.

“The toll of martyrs in Rafah reached 16”, the emergency official said, adding that seven people from one family and nine from another have died.

Medical officials confirmed two strikes that occurred at two different locations within the city.

Following a Hamas rocket bombardment, Israel announced the closure of the Kerem Shalom humanitarian gate into Gaza, effectively halting relief deliveries.

The UN accused Israel of impeding humanitarian access to Gaza and warned of a devastating famine in the region.
