Football has witnessed some spectacular goal celebrations over the years. Goal celebrations, from Edinson Cavani’s archer to Cristiano Ronaldo’s siuuu, are an integral part of what makes this game so unique. A comedian’s slow-motion rendition of a football goal celebration has gone viral on social media, proving just that.
At Up The Creek in London’s Greenwich, British comedian Karl Porter made the announcement that he could perform a “goal celebration in slow motion” for the audience. His amazing example of how a football player celebrates wildly after scoring a goal has gone viral online.
In the now-viral video, Mr. Porter started acting in slow motion like a football player rushing down the pitch with his eyes on the ball. As soon as he gets to the fictitious ball, he pulls himself up and pretends to headshot it into the net. Before starting to celebrate, he pauses to make sure he actually scored. He became wide-eyed and thanked God for his victory while the gathering laughed. He then celebrated with a faux knee-slide.
The video was posted three days ago and has received many comments while receiving around 35 million views on Instagram.
A user commented on the video on Instagram, saying, “That was incredible.”
Another user said, “That smile after the goal made me laugh over and over.”
The third participant remarked, “That’s brilliant, freaken hell.”
The fourth user said, “You don’t need a whole show; that one skill should pay all your bills.”
