On Wednesday, a Lufthansa flight en route to Bangkok underwent an unscheduled diversion to Delhi following a heated dispute between a German man and his Thai wife, escalating into a disruptive onboard altercation. Departing from Munich, the flight, identified as LH772, landed at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi after pilots alerted air traffic control to the escalating situation.
Reports indicate that the argument prompted the wife to seek intervention from the pilot, citing feeling “threatened” by her husband’s behavior. Subsequently, LH772 requested permission to land at IGI, having initially sought approval for a landing at a Pakistani airport, a request that was denied.

Upon landing, airport security, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation sources, removed the husband from the flight. The individual has since issued an apology to airport authorities. Security officials are actively engaged with the German embassy to address the incident. Present at the scene are Delhi police and the paramilitary force CISF, deliberating on whether to hand the individual over to Indian security agencies or facilitate his return to Germany.
