Indian Cricketers’ AI-Generated Look From 1950s Goes Viral

In recent months, artificial intelligence (AI) has had a substantial impact across a number of industries. Images produced by AI software like Midjourney have been frequently shared on social media. And now, an artist has recreated well-known Indian cricket players from the 1950s using the technology. The compilation of old images has gone viral on Reddit, where it has been shared like a video and has swept up social media. Redditor @anshuwuman posted the video on the ‘IndianArtAI’ subreddit, where it has gained nearly 2,500 upvotes.

The opening image of the film is a black-and-white portrait of Virat Kohli, who is sporting a sharp appearance with a French beard and pulled-back hair. Rohit Sharma in a coat is next seen, followed by MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya.

Along with Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja donning unorthodox looks, Shubhman Gill also contributes to the makeover.

Users on Reddit were astounded by the innovation.

Is the third one an MSD? Rahul was by far the best of them, according to one user. Another said, “Their retro looks so classy.”

A third person said, “Everyone had an awesome jawline in the 50s.”

Another said, “AI keeps exceeding my expectations.”
