“I Would Rather Eat Baby Powder Than Actual Food” US Woman On Strange Addiction Of Eating Baby Powder

According to a 27-year-old woman, she has spent an incredible $4,000 on Johnson’s baby powder this year, and she loves to eat it every day. After giving her kids a shower, Dreka Martin admitted that she always liked tasting the powder and then got cravings for it.

Mrs. Martin, a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, acknowledges that she takes one bottle of Johnson’s Aloe & Vitamin E, weighing 623g (22 oz), every day. Furthermore, she expressed her preference for giving up “normal food” as opposed to quitting. She mentioned that the white product melts in your tongue when asked what her favorite part about eating it is.

She claimed that she abstained from addiction while expecting. Since January, Mrs. Martin has been spending $14 on a bottle every day, for a total of about $3,780 this year. Dreka says she’s never had any digestive or health problems.

According to Johnson’s, their baby powder is “for use on the skin only” and should not be consumed. The makeup artist worries that her son might become dependent on the powder because he asks for it when they’re taking a bath after seeing her use it.

Mrs. Martin alleges that she suffers from pica, an eating disorder characterised by compulsive ingestion of non-food items like paint or chalk. The single mother acknowledges that she tried to hide her addiction to powder made of cornflour from her loved ones. She does, however, express dismay when they criticise her habit and raise health concerns.

“I enjoy consuming baby powder. It tastes just as good as it smells. It’s just a coping mechanism for me. I’m just happy and feel good about it,” Mrs. Martin.
I make an effort to kick the addiction, but I just can’t. My mouth waters thinking about it. I no longer even give a damn about eating real food—at this point, I just eat baby powder.

“I would rather eat baby powder than actual food if given the option. I would buy it with my last dollar because I really need it.”

She went on, “I told my mother about it for a month, but she questioned why the baby powder was being used so quickly. She sensed something wasn’t right because we usually used up a bottle in a week instead of the two months it was supposed to last.

“I’ve made an effort to keep it a secret from everyone, but I do it so frequently that I can’t speak when it fills my mouth. When they inquire as to what I’m eating, I explain that it’s baby powder.

“My family and friends advise me to quit because it’s unhealthy for me. I get upset when people judge me sometimes.

“I want to stop when they worry, but it’s not that simple. I still do it covertly. I can’t give up easily.

“I never travel without my baby powder. I know to bring at least three bottles if I’m travelling outside of the nation and I know they don’t carry that brand.”

Despite expressing concern that her son may emulate her behavior, she asserts that she has no plans to discontinue her consumption of baby powder anytime soon.
