A recent video capturing a Singapore Airlines flight attendant spoon-feeding a 5-year-old child has stirred up a discussion among netizens on social media. Shared by Instagram user Michael Rutherford, the footage has garnered both admiration and criticism for the attendant’s unusual gesture.
In the video posted four days ago, a flight attendant is seen seated in front of a child, feeding him with a spoon. Rutherford’s caption poses the question, “What would you do if this happened to you? We’re having the greatest flight ever, and this just made it even more perfect.”
The video quickly went viral, amassing over 14.2 million views and eliciting diverse reactions from viewers. While some found the act heartwarming and commended the flight attendant’s kindness, others argued that it was not within her responsibilities to feed the child.
One Instagram user expressed the view that the child was old enough to feed himself, asserting that flight attendants are not babysitters but are primarily there for the safety of passengers. However, contrasting opinions praised the flight attendant’s actions, with one commenter commending her for enhancing the child’s flying experience.
“Little man is living his best life! Kudos to the awesome flight attendant!” applauded a supporter. Another shared a personal anecdote, stating, “Thai staff fed my 8-year-old ice cream while he watched a movie many years ago. I woke up to see that and laughed.”
