Another Peak Bengaluru Moment: Rapido Driver Comes Out To Be Manager Of Big Company

Bengaluru, the startup hub of India, is renowned for its distinct culture and attractiveness, which consistently draw in new employees. Recently, the city has also been the subject of a number of internet memes that highlight the distinctive occurrences that are exclusive to it. You may find numerous accounts of “peak Bengaluru” moments on the internet. Recently, a user on X (previously Twitter) described her fascinating experience with a former corporate manager of a large corporation who was a Rapido driver.

Taking to X, the user, Shruti (@Shruwa12), wrote, “In my peak Bangalore moment today, the Rapido guy turned out to be a corporate manager in one of the big companies, who likes to help people reach to their destination in reasonable amounts”. She concluded her post with a nod to the city’s unique culture. “Anything is possible in Bangalore,” the user said.

Additionally, Ms. Shruti tagged the Rapido app’s official handle. The company replied by thanking them and wishing them more enjoyable rides in the future. “Hi Shruti, we are grateful for your kind words towards our captain. After reading your post, we are really pleased and we hope your upcoming rides with us will be delightful. Keep riding with Rapido. Please feel free to get back to us via DM for any future assistance,” Rapido wrote.

Internet’s reaction to the Rapido driver

The X user’s message has received over 1,500 views on the microblogging platform since it was shared a few days ago. It even garnered attention, with one user commenting, “Interesting!”. Another jokingly suggested, “u don’t need linkedin anymore”.

In the meantime, an X user said that a taxi driver had introduced and was advertising his ride-sharing app in the market during another high-profile incident in Bengaluru. He wants to take on industry heavyweights like Ola and Uber. A person going by the handle The Bengaluru Man shared the post.

“Peak Bengaluru: Mr Lokesh my uber cab driver informed me that he has launched his own app to compete with uber and ola and already has more than 600 drivers on his app.  Moreover, today they launched their IOS version for apple too,” he said on X, formerly Twitter, and shared pamphlet that has the company’s website, customer service number and email on it.
