IMD Forecast: Heavy Rain Likely Across Several States On Saturday

The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall across several parts of the country on Saturday, with widespread showers likely over northwest, central, eastern, northeastern, western and peninsular India.

According to the latest forecast, several regions may receive heavy to very heavy rain, while thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds could affect parts of the country.

The department has advised people in vulnerable areas to remain alert to waterlogging, flooding and other weather-related disruptions.

Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi are likely to receive widespread rainfall.

The IMD has predicted heavy rain at isolated places in East Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan, while isolated areas of East Rajasthan may experience very heavy showers.

Widespread rainfall is also likely across Odisha, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Odisha may receive very heavy rain at isolated locations.

In the Northeast, heavy rainfall could affect Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and several neighbouring states.

Konkan and Goa are likely to experience widespread showers, while parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat may also receive rain.

The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka, with very heavy showers possible at isolated locations.

Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds may affect Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

The department has advised fishermen against venturing into several sea areas, including waters along and off the Karnataka, Kerala and Oman coasts, because of adverse weather conditions.

Torrential rain flooded Delhi-NCR roads, stranded vehicles and disrupted traffic on several major routes.

Vehicles became stranded on flooded stretches, while commuters faced delays on major routes, including ITO, Rohtak Road, Wazirabad Road, Shaheen Bagh, the Delhi-Jaipur Highway and areas near Badarpur Border Metro Station.
