OnePlus has unveiled the Turbo 6, its highly anticipated gaming-focused smartphone, in China. The device was earlier teased by OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis, who promised ‘terrifying performance, endurance, and gaming experience’.
The launch marks OnePlus’ continued push into the high-performance mobile gaming segment.
The OnePlus Turbo 6 comes with a 1.5K 165Hz display, confirming earlier rumours that the device would surpass the 144Hz standard seen on many gaming phones.
In terms of durability, the Turbo 6 carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings, matching the protection offered on the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R.
The device also features an in-display optical fingerprint scanner for secure and convenient unlocking.
OnePlus has positioned the power button and volume rockers on the right-hand side, while placing the programmable Plus Key on the left, as seen in recent models.
The global version of the phone will run OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16.
The Turbo 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring smooth performance for gaming and multitasking.
On the camera front, the device packs a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the front-facing camera boasts 32MP for selfies and video calls.
A standout feature of the Turbo 6 is its massive 9,000mAh battery, the largest ever in a OnePlus device. It supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging, offering exceptional endurance for gamers and power users.
The Turbo 6 features a squarish camera island with curved edges, a design language introduced from the OnePlus 13 series onwards.
The camera module houses the dual-camera setup and flash, giving it a modern yet functional look.
OnePlus has confirmed the China launch on 8 January, with three colour options: White, Black, and Green.
Reports indicate that OnePlus may launch the device in India as the Nord 6, possibly in early March during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, though the company has yet to confirm officially.
With the Turbo 6, OnePlus aims to capture the growing mobile gaming market, combining high refresh rate displays, powerful performance, and long-lasting battery life.
OnePlus expects the device to strengthen its presence in the gaming smartphone segment while providing consumers with a premium, high-performance mobile experience.
