India plays Australia in the fourth Twenty20 International (T20I) of their five-match series at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, hoping to win the series. The visitors pulled off a stunning comeback to win the third Twenty20 International and give themselves a chance. They had fallen behind 0-2. With 223 runs to chase, Australia easily reached 225/5 in 20 overs thanks to an undefeated century from Glenn Maxwell (104*). Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets for the home team in the meantime. In the first 20 overs, India scored 222/3, with Ruturaj Gaikwad (123*) smashing an undefeated hundred. Jason Behrendorff, Aaron Hardie, and Kane Richardson each claimed a wicket for the visiting team.
With a few minor adjustments, India is anticipated to field the same playing XI for the fourth Twenty20 International. The home team’s openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Gaikwad, will aim to put on a strong batting performance. Jaiswal, who has only scored 80 runs in this series, will be eager to register a big score. In contrast to his opening partner, Jaiswal has been inconsistent. With 181 runs in three games, Gaikwad is the series’ best run scorer and had a huge performance in the last game.

Batting at number three, Ishan Kishan will try to bounce back from his five-ball duck. The MI star had a great start to the series but was let down in the previous Twenty20 International. With Shreyas Iyer, the number four hitter, set to return from World Cup rest, he will be seeking to build a solid combination. Suryakumar Yadav, who is leading India in the current series, will be seen at number five in place of rested veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. With 138 runs in three games, the veteran is the third-highest run scorer in this series and is playing with confidence.
Rinku Singh, meanwhile, will bat at number six and assume the finisher role once more. Washinton Sundar, an all-rounder, is anticipated to take Axar Patel’s spot in a straight swap and provide more batting depth. His ability to spin will also be useful.
As for the tail enders, they will be Mukesh Kumar, who will take Prasidh Krishna’s spot, Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Chahar, and Ravi Bishnoi. With Chahar’s selection, Avesh Khan will drop out of the starting lineup. However, six players from Australia’s World Cup squad were let go, thus they will start the match with a completely new starting lineup.
