Sanju Samson’s 115* Powers CSK To 212/1 vs DC; Set 213-Run Target

Chennai Super Kings set a target of 213 runs for Delhi Capitals after producing a dominant batting display at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Sanju Samson starred with a commanding unbeaten century, while Ayush Mhatre contributed a fluent half-century.

After being put in to bat, CSK received a steady start from captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Samson, who added 62 runs for the opening wicket in just over six overs.

Gaikwad made 15 runs from 18 deliveries before departing. Samson then built a crucial partnership with Mhatre, as the pair added 113 runs for the second wicket. Their stand propelled the side to a strong position, with Mhatre eventually retiring out after scoring 59 off 36 balls, including four sixes and three boundaries.

Sanju Samson reached his century in 52 balls, registering his fourth hundred in the IPL. He continued to dominate the bowlers and remained unbeaten on 115 from 56 deliveries, striking 15 fours and four sixes.

Samson also shared an unbroken 37-run partnership with Shivam Dube, who added a quick 20 not out from 10 balls, helping CSK finish strongly.

For the Delhi Capitals, captain Axar Patel emerged as the only successful bowler, claiming one wicket while conceding 39 runs in his four overs. The rest of the bowling unit struggled to contain the flow of runs.

Delhi Capitals currently occupy the fourth position with two wins from three matches. Chennai Super Kings remain at the bottom of the standings after losing their first three fixtures.
