Ahmedabad experienced a brief spell of light rain just hours before the much-anticipated IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday.
With both teams vying for their first-ever IPL title, the gloomy weather added an element of uncertainty to an already high-stakes evening.
Fortunately for fans, the rain lasted for only around 30 minutes and did not fall heavily enough to cause major concern.
Despite the damp conditions, thousands of supporters particularly RCB fans began gathering outside the stadium well in advance, creating a lively and colourful pre-match atmosphere.
The latest weather update has offered reassurance.
Meteorologists predict little to no rain during match hours, which should allow the final to proceed as planned.
According to AccuWeather, temperatures at the start of the game will hover around 36°C, cooling to approximately 31°C by the end.

Humidity is expected to range between 52% and 63%, while cloudy skies are likely to persist throughout. The chance of rain interrupting the match remains low, at just 2% to 5%.
Should rain disrupt the final completely, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled a reserve day on Wednesday.
If both days are entirely washed out, a scenario experts deem unlikely, Punjab Kings will be declared champions, as they finished at the top of the points table.
This is not the first time the Narendra Modi Stadium has faced weather-related challenges during an IPL final.
In 2023, rain forced the postponement of the championship match, initially set for 28 May, without a single ball bowled.
The BCCI utilised the reserve day, but persistent rain shortened the match, with the second innings limited to just 15 overs.
That night ended in dramatic fashion, as Ravindra Jadeja hit the winning runs off the final delivery to hand Chennai Super Kings their fifth title, beating home side Gujarat Titans.
As RCB and PBKS prepare to battle for their place in IPL history, the weather no longer appears to pose a serious threat.
With the stage set and anticipation running high, cricket fans across India and around the world are hoping for a full, uninterrupted contest that delivers a fitting end to the 2025 season.
