Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to take first strike against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 67 of IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Both sides entered the contest in good form, making it a key fixture.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru made one alteration to their line-up, with skipper Rajat Patidar returning to the side in place of Jacob Bethell, who is unavailable due to injury. Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, retained the same XI.
Captain Pat Cummins admitted that a top-two finish remains a distant possibility. He stressed the importance of putting up a strong performance.
“I think it’s a long shot finishing top two, but we just want to give it a crack. Want the boys to enjoy tonight,” he stated.
RCB currently hold 18 points from 13 matches, while SRH have accumulated 16 points from the same number of games.
A win for SRH could improve their chances of moving into the top two, depending on their Net Run Rate.
The pitch appears to have very little grass and will likely offer even bounce, making it conducive for batting. These conditions are likely to allow players to play attacking strokes with confidence.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan (wk), Heinrich Klaasen, Salil Arora, R Smaran, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Pat Cummins (capt), Shivang Kumar, Eshan Malinga, Sakib Hussain
Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Venkatesh Iyer, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (capt), Jitesh Sharma (wk), Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rasikh Salam, Suyash Sharma, Josh Hazlewood
With both teams aiming to strengthen their position in the standings, the outcome of this fixture could prove crucial.
A strong display from either side may significantly influence the race for the top spots.
