IPL 2026: Mitchell Marsh’s 96 Powers LSG To 220/5 Against Rajasthan Royals

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) set a challenging target of 221 runs for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 64th match of IPL 2026. Rajasthan Royals entered the contest aiming to secure a win to keep their playoff ambitions alive.

In the match held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Tuesday, LSG posted 220 for five in their allotted overs.

Openers Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis provided a blistering start, putting RR under immediate pressure. The pair added 109 runs in just 8.2 overs, laying a strong foundation.

Inglis struck 60 off 29 deliveries, smashing three sixes and seven fours before departing.

Following his dismissal, Marsh combined with Nicholas Pooran to add 42 runs for the second wicket in quick time, taking the score to 151. Pooran contributed a brisk 16 off 11 balls, including two sixes.

Captain Rishabh Pant joined Marsh, and the duo stitched together a 64-run partnership in 41 balls, ensuring the innings maintained momentum and crossed the 200-run mark.

Pant made 35 off 23 balls, hitting two sixes and two boundaries before getting out.

LSG lost three wickets in the final over, including that of Marsh. The Australian all-rounder played a remarkable innings of 96 runs from 57 balls, striking five sixes and 11 fours, but fell just four runs short of a well-deserved century.

For Rajasthan Royals, Yash Raj emerged as the most effective bowler with two wickets, while Jofra Archer claimed one. The bowling unit, however, struggled overall to contain LSG’s aggressive batting display.

Lucknow Super Giants currently sit 10th in the standings with eight wins from 12 matches.

In contrast, the Rajasthan Royals occupy the fifth spot in the standings. The team has secured six victories so far. This clash remains crucial for their playoff hopes.
