The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) paid tribute to the Indian Armed Forces ahead of the 58th match of IPL 2025.
The match took place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala.
Renowned singer and composer B Praak performed live. His music honoured the courage and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces.
The tribute followed rising tensions between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.
Taking to X, the Indian Premier League posted, “A Tribute to Indian Armed Forces, ft. B Praak.”
On Wednesday, before the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings at Eden Gardens, organisers played the national anthem.
Players, support staff, and match officials stood in solemn respect.
A message reading ‘Proud of the Indian armed forces’ appeared repeatedly on the big screen.
The gesture showed strong support for India’s defence personnel.
During the night of 6th-7th May, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor.
They struck nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The Ministry of Defence confirmed the air strikes in a press release issued at 1:44 AM on May 7.
The strikes targeted locations from where terrorists had planned and directed attacks against India.
