Uttar Pradesh Police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested Abu Saleh Mandal in Lucknow’s Manak Nagar area. Mandal, a West Bengal resident, is accused of misusing foreign funds worth Rs 58 crore obtained in the name of two trusts to carry out anti-national activities. The ATS had intelligence of a syndicate involved in settling illegal immigrants from Bangladesh by procuring fake documents. The ATS registered cases against Abu Saleh under relevant IPC sections and The Foreigners Act, 1946.
