Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director Christopher A Wray met with the Sanjay Arora Police Commissioner of Delhi, at the headquarters of Delhi Police. FBI Director was briefed of the mandate, challenges and organizational set up of Delhi Police and about areas of possible mutual cooperation between the two law enforcement agencies. There was a particular emphasis on enhancing exchange of information on criminal matters and for improving structural coordination in combating transnational crimes. Both agencies recognized the need to focus on emerging technology-based challenges to law enforcement, closer cooperation in solving transnational cybercrimes, facilitating access to service providers offering encrypted communication applications and the need to share information to prevent criminals taking advantage of operating from/finding shelter in different countries.
