NCPCR chief Priyank Kanoongo says, “In 2021, an incident of rape-murder of a minor was reported. At that time, Rahul Gandhi had visited them to sensationalise it. He had shot videos with the child’s parents and posted them same on his social media accounts. In doing this, he violated the provisions of the POCSO Act and Juvenile Justice Act. We had told Delhi Police to register FIR against him. Today, during the hearing of a plea in this matter, Delhi Police informed the court that they registered an FIR against him in September 2021. We expect that the Delhi Police will arrest the accused soon.”
