Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections on Wednesday. He outlined seven key guarantees aimed at various sections of society.
The manifesto includes a monthly allowance of Rs 2,000 for women and LPG cylinders priced at Rs 500. Kharge pledged to create two lakh jobs for youth and provide 300 units of free electricity to each household. The old-age pension will increase to Rs 6,000 per month, and the party plans to conduct a caste census.
For farmers, Congress promises a legal guarantee for the minimum support price (MSP) of crops. Kharge emphasized that these commitments are part of a broader vision to empower families and uplift marginalized groups.
During the launch, Haryana party chief Udai Bhan highlighted the Rs 2,000 monthly support for women over 18. He also reiterated plans to restore the old pension scheme and ensure a drug-free Haryana. The manifesto promises Rs 25 lakh in free medical treatment, 100-yard plots for poor families, and a commitment to fill two lakh vacant government positions.
Kharge concluded by stating that the manifesto aims to improve the lives of farmers, the poor, and backward classes. The details will be further explained in a forthcoming event in Chandigarh.
